How this works

What you will do

The survey has 25 questions and a short fact sheet. Allow about 10–15 minutes. Each page shows one question, fact card, or proposal. One optional question invites an answer in your own words. You can skip any question.

The fact sheet

Partway through, you will read six short cards drawn from public reports by U.S. government agencies, national laboratories, and an independent state audit. Every person in the study reads the same six cards. Some people read them a little earlier in the survey than others. This difference lets us study whether the fact sheet changes views.

Four proposals

Near the end, you will rate four hypothetical proposals for a large data center in your county or city. They differ only in the features shown. They are not real projects.
